Streetsblog Mass, a daily news source dedicated to promoting sustainable transportation and safer streets throughout Massachusetts, have released an article highlighting a joint feasibility study recently released by Friends of the Mystic to Charles Connector (FM2C) and Friends of the Community Path.
The study explores the development of a multi-use path connections safe for users of all ages and abilities in East Somerville and East Cambridge. If completed, the Mystic River Greenways would be connected to dozens of additional miles of paths in greater Boston that were previously inaccessible, including the Community Path Extension, Grand Junction Path and Charles River Paths. It would also connect the MBTA's Orange, Red and Green subway lines together via multi-use paths, promoting a comfortable last-mile option for residents and visitors who do not have immediate access to a personal vehicle.
